Sunday, September 28th, 2025 - Join us at Agnes Scott College for a FREE screening of Return of the River – a story of hope and possibility amid grim environmental news. It is a film for our time: an invitation to consider crazy ideas that could transform the world for the better, and features an unlikely success story for environmental and cultural restoration.
The Elwha River in Washington State, tells the story about people and the land they inhabit. The film captures the tenacity of individuals who would not give up on a river, mirroring the tenacity of salmon headed upstream to spawn. It is a narrative with global ramifications, exploring the complex relationship between communities and the environment that sustains them.

TO CAMPBELL HALL & FRANNIE AUDITORIUM (RM 128)
On foot, exit garage to the east and take the crosswalk across S. McDonough Street. Turn right and follow the sidewalk south. Turn left at the surface parking lot and pass the Office of Special Events. Campbell Hall will be on your right. Once inside, turn left from the atrium. The Frannie Auditorium, room 128, is on the right at the end of the hall.
SRWA is screening a series of documentaries through 2025 that inspire, empower and challenge us to stay in the game – protecting the environment and communities. As SRWA Board President, Jackie Echols, says: "Use it or lose it.". This mantra applies to recreational use, as well as the use of our voices and actions to protect the river.
